Bank identification
- Battery bank name and location recorded.
- Battery chemistry, voltage, capacity, age and installation date recorded.
- Protected loads identified, including emergency, UPS, AV/IT, bridge, radio or service loads.
- Charger, inverter or BMS model recorded.
- Main isolation point and charger isolation point identified.
Visual and space checks
- Space is clean, dry, accessible and free of stored items.
- No swelling, cracking, leakage, deformation, corrosion or heat marks visible.
- Terminals are covered and cables are supported against chafe.
- Ventilation path is clear and fan or forced ventilation has been checked.
- No unusual heat, smell, smoke, water ingress or chemical residue present.
Charging and monitoring
- Charger mode, voltage and current recorded.
- Battery monitor or BMS status checked.
- Active alarms photographed or logged before reset.
- Float or charge settings checked against known configuration.
- Battery temperature or thermal trend reviewed where available.
Isolation and escalation
- Isolation sequence is labelled and accessible.
- Confirm whether isolation affects emergency, alarm, radio, bridge or monitoring loads.
- Stop and escalate swelling, heat, leakage, BMS shutdown, water ingress, damaged cables or unknown alarms.
- Record photos, readings, defects, corrective actions and next inspection date.
